Following the Cross-border Healthcare Directive, patients have the right to to access health services in another EU/EEA country and to enjoy assumption of costs by their home country. This is discussed in a manual produced under the Health Programme (2014-2020) in the frame of a specific contract with the Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency (CHAFEA) acting under the mandate of the European Commission.This toolbox is intended for patients and National Contact Points (NCPs) under the Cross-border Healthcare Directive with the purpose of facilitating the provision of information on cross-border healthcare to patients.
