Ente Ospedaliero Galliera (EOG) is part of the National Health System and its clinical and research activities are mainly focused on aging and the care of older people. Indeed, Galliera Hospital has been included by the Liguria Region as a successful experience of “Reference Site for Healthy problems” of the older people who are living in the metropolitan area of Genoa City and other cities/locations in the Liguria Region in the frame of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Aging (EIP-on-AHA). EOG is organized according to the principles of Intensity of Care (from emergency to post-acute care and rehabilitation) and the Continuity of Care for Geriatric Patients. This Care Model supports the inclusion of EOG as a “reference regional hospital for geriatric care” in the EIP-on-AHA. EOG cooperates with the National Research Council of Italy, the University of Genoa, the Italian Institute of Technology and other Italian Universities to promote, transfer and improve research activities in the main sectors of health care.
